Objective & Challenges
The goal was to design and create an experience like none other for fellow industry colleagues, working with the sponsored venue, the Field Museum and their exclusive preferred vendor list (one technical company, four caterers, and four decor/floral companies). Additionally, we were only allowed to load within three hours before guests arrived due to the museum’s rules and safety considerations to wait until daily public closing time. Unfortunately, two weeks prior to the event, one of the presenting executives broke her foot.
The Solution
Why not do something extravagant that has not been done before at a historic Chicago museum? NEON! Then we took that to the next level, literally, with a three-story stage for the awards presentation. Through great partnerships, we collaborated to work through logistics. We divided the Stanley Hall space into pairs of caterers and decor teams to each create an amazing experience. Based on our design vision, they outdid themselves! Then, how do we help the executive who broke her foot? We sent her up in the scissors lift prior to the event, and then she was carried down. Our client and guests still talk about this event experience!
