The Objective

For the last five years, we have partnered with the Chicago Event Management team to assist with the Chicago Marathon, an event that brings together thousands of participants and spectators. Our team works directly with their Creative Director to elevate the starting line experience through technology, video production, and entertainment. In the most recent event in 2023, we were asked to extend those experiences to the finish line and post-race party!

The Challenges

  • Create an electric atmosphere at the start and finish line.
  • Create a connected live stream of the event for the in-person spectators and runners.
  • Create a seamless experience for the crowd and runners alike.
  • Seamlessly connecting three LED screens that are 500 feet apart and ensuring all three LED screens connect to control the content sent to each independently or in sync.

The Solutions

  • Elevate the starting line experience through technology, video production, and entertainment.
  • Create a seamless run of show by gaining access to the scripts for the starting line and second stage.
  • Connect all three LED screens to control the content sent to each independently to create a seamless HD synced display.
  • We were able to gain higher bandwidth by having a direct connection to the NBC broadcast which enabled the best picture quality with no delays.
  • We provided a live emcee who interacted with the audience with live trivia and gave away prizes, promotions, etc.
